Patrick
"Mista Vybe" Gordon entered
the Soca arena back in 1989 with cover band M-Voice.
In 1997 he paired up with Sharlene Boodram on "Joe
le Taxi," a re-make of a 1980s hit by French Pop
star Vanessa Paradis. The song was number one in all
the French speaking islands and an underground hit in
Paris.
After a brief stint with 'Horyzon',
in 1999, Mista Vybe joined 'Atlantik.' In 2000 he moved
on to the band 'Triple X', joining long time friends
Michelle Sylvester and Nadia Batson. Vybe left Triple
X shortly after to persue a solo career and turned out
the hit track "Up".
Vybe's breakout year came in 2006 with
one of the biggest hits for Trinidad Carnival, "Ting
4 De Road". A track which propelled him into the
spotlight, with performances at all the major events.
He went on to place 2nd-runner up in the Road March
standings and 6th place in his International Soca Monarch
debut.
In 2006, Mista Vybe also collaborated
with Michelle Sylvester on the hit track "Always
On My Mind," on the Breeze Riddim. |
